Family Therapy
Joint Therapy for 2 Family Members
Newsflash: you can’t make a relationship healthy on your own.
You might both want to move forward, but you don’t want to go back to the same old shit. And that’s where boundaries, communication, and understanding the patterns between you come in.
If you grew up in a family where healthy boundaries didn’t exist, it would be a bloody miracle if you automatically knew what they were, or how the fuck to use them.
You may have learned to:
-
Stay quiet.
-
People-please.
-
Avoid difficult conversations.
-
Keep the peace.
-
Put everyone else’s feelings before your own.
-
Shut down when things feel too much.
-
Take responsibility for everyone else’s emotions.
Those patterns can follow you into adult relationships, making it difficult to communicate without falling into the same old cycle.

How Family Therapy Works
This gives 2 family members somewhere to slow things down and understand what’s actually happening between you.
I’ll help you recognise the patterns, understand how past experiences are affecting the relationship now and allow you to communicate better. You’ll have space to understand each other’s experiences without having to agree on everything.
We can explore:
-
What happens when conflict starts.
-
How each of you responds when you feel hurt, criticised, threatened, or misunderstood.
-
The boundaries you need and how to communicate them.
-
How to listen without immediately becoming defensive.
-
How to take responsibility for your own behaviour without taking responsibility for someone else’s.
-
What rebuilding trust could realistically look like.
-
Whether you want to rebuild the relationship, change the way you have contact, or accept that some distance may be healthier.
My Role as your Therapist
I’m not there to decide who’s right or take sides. My role is to support both of you, help you understand what’s happening between you, and create a space where difficult conversations can happen without simply repeating the same old shit.
Because rebuilding a relationship is fucking hard, especially when years of history, old wounds, deeply held narratives, and the influence of other family members get in the way.
And moving forward together doesn’t mean the past didn’t happen.
It doesn’t mean agreeing on who had it worst. It means being willing to look honestly at what’s happening now and work out what needs to change if you both want a healthier relationship.

The Foundation Process is designed to help you understand what’s happening in your relationship and, after the initial session, decide whether ongoing therapy is right for you.
It's about getting to the bottom of what's really going on and whether there's a healthy way forwards without continuing the same bloody cycle.
WHAT YOU’LL PAY
The initial joint session is £250.
The remaining three foundation sessions are £495, paid in advance, if you choose to continue.
Here's how it works and what's involved:
